TIP:
Before registering a Protection Calendar, it is important to have an Information Security Policy in place, as you may create several calendars that reflect this policy across different areas, users, and control items.
To learn how to add users and/or control items to a calendar, refer to the article: Protection Calendar: Configuration.
How to Register a Calendar
To create a new calendar, click on Protect Data in either the top menu or the side menu of Gestiona.
Next, click on Add New Calendar.
Name the new calendar and click on Create.
Then, complete the configuration of the new calendar by filling in the fields under the Basic Data, Permissions, and Edit Period tabs.
DICAS:
-
We recommend using the name of the Client, Company, Area, or Security Policy to which the calendar refers.
-
We do not recommend using the Year as the calendar’s name, as for each created calendar, blocking dates must be configured for each year in which the protection is in effect.
In this tab, you can check the Calendar Owner (the user who created the calendar) and also edit the created calendar’s name and configure the fields IC Editing Block and Block Empty Cells.
- IC Editing Block: Disables the editing of fields on the Control Item Registration screen from the specified date.
- Block Empty Cells: In addition to blocking fields with values on the measurement screen, it also blocks unfilled fields, such as Red Range, Comments, etc.
IMPORTANT:
The Item Editing Block option in the protection calendar does NOT block the editing of item registration for users who have the permission IMPORT DATA WITHOUT PROTECTION CALENDAR RESTRICTION enabled in their profile. This allows the user to edit the BASIC DATA and ITEM TYPE tabs on the item registration screen even with the block active.
How to View a Calendar
To view an existing calendar, select a calendar from the list.
When you select a calendar, you will see the Basic Data of the selected calendar.
By clicking on the Assignments, Permissions, and Edit Period tabs, you can view all the details of the configured calendar.
REMINDER:
-
A user can be part of multiple calendars; however, each Control Item can only be part of one calendar.

To learn how to add users and items to a calendar, refer to the article: Protection Calendar: Configuration.
How to Delete a Calendar
To delete a calendar, simply access the Basic Data tab of the selected calendar and click Delete.
To confirm the deletion, click Yes.
In this tab, you can specify which users will be part of the created calendar.
Simply select the user on the left side and click Add User to move them to the right side.
IMPORTANT: Only users with registered control items can be assigned to a protection calendar.
Alternatively, you can click Add Structure to grant permission to the selected user and their subordinates.
To remove a user from this calendar, simply click the next to the selected user.
In this tab, you can specify which users have permission to edit this calendar.
To grant this permission to one or more users, simply click on Add to move the users from the Users column to the Allowed Users column.
To revoke this permission, click on Remove to move the users from the Allowed Users column back to the Users column.
You can also use the All button to add or remove all users at once.
In this tab, you can set the dates when the system should lock the fields on the Measurements, FCA, and Pareto screens.
Click on Create to define a new period.
Next, specify the desired year and click on Create.
You can now enter the lock dates in each of the fields for the respective months.
You can select the date from the calendar, enter it manually, or copy and paste the entered date.
Finally, click on Save.
Understand the Period Columns:
Actual: Blocks editing of the Actual field in measurements.
Forecast: Blocks editing of the Forecast field in measurements, and also now blocks editing of the colour limits. If you need to edit this field, you must configure an exception for the user.
Important: Remember that the “Block IC Editing” option also blocks editig of the Colour Limit. If this option is configured in your calendar, it will take precedence over the forecast date. Therefore, if you need to edit the colour limit, you must also disable this option.
Budgeted: Blocks editing of the target in the measurements screen.
Note: Blocks editing of the Comments field in measurements.
Pareto: Blocks editing of Pareto items.
FCA: Blocks editing of already created FCA fields. However, even with this option active, Gestiona will allow the user to include new information in their FCA, such as adding new causes or actions.
